How we Value Bicycles

What value should I insure my bicycle for?

For bicycles purchased new and less than 2 years old, we suggest insuring your bicycle at the recommended retail price. For bicycles older than 2 years or purchased second hand, the total bike value should be reflective of the depreciated value, starting from the original date of purchase. We apply 20% for the first year and then a further 10% for each subsequent year thereafter.

About Sundays Insurance

Why choose Sundays if my bike’s covered under my home and contents?

You may have some cover under your home and contents policy, but often there are limitations to the value and what is covered. With Sundays Insurance you can rest assured that your policy has been designed by cyclists with fellow cyclists in mind.

Can I purchase the policy online?

Absolutely. Click here, get a quote, enter your payment details and your insurance certificate will be emailed right away.

I am 14, can I get insurance?

You must be aged between 18 and 85, be the named policyholder and be residing in Australia at the time of purchasing a Sundays Insurance policy.

Who is Sundays Insurance?

Sundays Insurance is promoted, distributed and administered by Velosure Pty Ltd acting as an Authorised Representative of Hollard trading as Sundays Insurance. Sundays Insurance specialises in cyclist specific insurance across the world.

Why have you declined to offer me insurance?

When developing our product, we establish a criteria to ensure that we create a viable product which meets the needs of our customers. This criteria includes:

  • Your location
  • Value of the bike
  • Claims history

When we decline to offer you insurance, it’s because the information you have provided to us does not match our criteria. We will always provide you with the reasons why we have declined to provide you with insurance, so you understand our decision. We will also provide you with information about where you can go to find other insurers that offer products similar to ours and that may be better suited to your needs. At any stage, you can contact us with any questions you may have about our decision. If you are not satisfied with our decision, you may also make a complaint, please refer to our Complaints Handing Process.
